Life raft FRN-SN

FRN-SN

This inflatable life raft is designed as lifesaving equipment for commercial vessels (excluding fishing boats) navigating all adjacent seas and oceans. Its structures, performance and accessories meet the requirements under the International Convention For The Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS), LSA Code.4.2 in 1996.
It inflates with liquefied CO2 gas (partially mixed with N2 gas), and is equipped with a boarding ramp that unfolds automatically, thermally insulated canopy and flooring, and large water pockets to ensure stability. The raft fully inflates in 10 to 25 seconds after dropping at ordinary temperature so as to enable individuals to promptly and safely be evacuated into the life raft.
The structure and performance of this highly reliable life raft comply with the provisions of SOLAS and the Lifesaving Equipment Regulations for Commercial Vessels such as (a) the raft must be capable of withstanding temperature range of -30 to +65 deg.(Celsius), (b) capable of withstanding exposure for 30 days afloat in all sea conditions, (c) the total weight must be 185kg or less, etc. This model has passed a drop test from a height of 30m.

Safety Precautions

  • Although regular inspections are required by law to maintain the function, aging deterioration is unavoidable. The extent of deterioration depends on the installed locations or navigating situations, but according to the study conducted by a ship-chandlery related research institute, rapid deterioration may occur in eight years.
  • Even after a lapse of eight years, they can be used if they pass the test required. However, it is recommended that life rafts be replaced in every 8 to 12 years.
